From the perspective of technology research and development, the white paper comprehensively analyzes the competitive environment, key technologies and representative enterprises of Micro-LED industry.
The white paper shows that the Micro-LED industry is characterized by large market potential, rich technology reserves and high innovation and R&D enthusiasm. The global patent applications in this field have exceeded 40000, and are in an explosive growth period; From the perspective of innovation subjects, China's leading enterprises and international leading enterprises are going hand in hand, and Chinese enterprises have accounted for more than half of the top 15 enterprises in patent applications; In terms of technology, the key technical problems of Micro-LED industrialization are mainly focused on epitaxy&chip structure, massive transfer, full-color display and display drive. The above technologies are accelerating the process of tackling difficulties.
Specifically, from the perspective of technological innovation, according to smart bud data, as of June 2022, the global patent reserve of Micro-LED has exceeded 40000, and the technology reserve is rich; And since 2017, the research and development activity of Micro-LED technology has increased significantly, and is currently in an explosive growth period. For example, according to Omdia data, affected by the demand of smart watch and high-end TV market, the global shipment of Micro-LED monitors will rise from the low level in 2020 to more than 16 million, with huge market demand potential.
Chinese enterprises account for more than half of the world's top 15 Micro-LED patent applications, of which BOE and CSOT have ranked among the top five in the world. 5.
